Speaking the truth and making the news information transparent is the fundamental responsibility for the media professionals all the time. The obligation of journalism is the delivery of the updated information so it is important to make them true to the audience.
The verification of the news before they are released is an inevitable step for the journalist and the identification and proof of the original sources are the most important part to guarantee the truth.

The misinformation and the inaccuracy of the news still account for a big percentage in the news coverage. This data shows that plenty of the news is still not accurate from the source and then released by the journalist. The media news stands for the most fair and accurate information for the public but they still make the wrong messages spread sometimes. Personal judgement would be utilized here for acting vigilant to the process of the information gathering. The journalists should be able to use their professional sense and knowledge to think about the source thoroughly and then pick the most trustworthy one to process.
However, being totally transparent and staying true to the public is hard to balance when it comes to politics. Trolling is the action which deliberately provokes somebody for the sake of provoking them and making them react. This operation is like a bait and a tool for the governments and politicians to control the reactions of the public most of the time. The attitude towards the political news from the public audience is significant to the politicians. Sometimes a series of scandals regarding the government they may not want to be revealed by the news coverage. So the journalists have no choice when the news is related to politics and they are not the one to make decisions about whether the news could be exactly the truth.

Social media companies realize that the restrictions would be put onto the platforms when the news information spreads. The restrictions and sensitivity from the government would be applied on some incidents with giant influence. For example, the presidential election and the COVID-19 those pivotal events that relate to the public interest, would have a profound impact no matter to the public or the government. The news information at that moment is becoming the tool to leverage political purposes and truth delivery. So on the side of the audience they have to be clear-headed and recognizable to the public news information as well.
It is so hard to know if the news you are receiving is accurate or not these days. I would also agree with chart that most news is biased. Sometimes people may not even realize the news or information they are getting is biased because it has become so second nature and accepted.
