Yellow journalism is a form of journalism that is sensationalized and exaggerated to attract its' audience however, many of the stories are just flat out untrue. One of the major core values of journalism is truth. I have included a link that explains the core values of ethical journalism. https://ethicaljournalismnetwork.org/who-we-are/5-principles-of-journalism Without truth, journalism could be left without a code of ethics and would be more focused on a desire for monetary values. In journalism, the importance should always lie with the truth and integrity of the story.

Yellow journalism tends to lose the core values that journalism was built on. An example of yellow journalism can be the stories in magazines that you see posted in grocery stores. There are some major brand named celebrity-based magazines that gain value from sensationalizing stories and more often than not just completing creating a false story altogether. Often times you will see these magazines discussing stories of celeb break-ups or anything drama related within celebrities' lives. Here is an example of a headline using a sensationalized topic to attract viewers.

As you can see, this is a sensationalized completely false story posted in order to gain monetary value and attract an audience.
